A Bit of Personal Philosophy
and Other Thoughts

By Barefoot

My Dearly Beloved Brother and Sister,

Yes, I have studied the scriptures, in great depth, most of the scriptures of the many religions of the world. I have also studied the histories of how these religions came to be...

I, myself, am a follower, from the perspective of Native American spirituality, of the path which that underemployed, itinerant Aramaic handyman, Eshu ben Yosep, known to the western world as Jesus the Christ, set out before us as a means of coming to unity, at one with oneself, with our fellow man, and our Higher Power, God as each understands him .. and I am neither "Christian" or "Jewish" or "Buddhist" or "Moslem" or "Hindu" nor called by the name of any other organized religion .. I am very simply, as he would have me say, a Son of God, as I believe all others to be. As He also was a Son of God, He is therefore our Elder Brother, and his completed learning guarantees our own success and the success of all who follow that path which He set before us..

Man is not bad, he said, he is not evil, there is no sin anywhere. There is naught but GOOD.

Man is still in his early dawn and does not yet know how to live, or how to love. He does not yet know WHO he is, or WHY he is here. Too few among men have yet awakened to their divinity. Therefore, while man is still so new he must be forgiven, for as Jesus said, "They know not what they do."

God has sent many messages of love to Man, by many messengers, to uplift him to high pinnacles from which Man has always fallen, and will continue to fall until he listens with inner ears to these messages from Soul of God to Soul of Man. God's Silent Voice forever speaks to all men, but few will hear it, and know its meaning, and the vast many know not what it means. The few who do hear it and know its meaning, bring messages of Love to those who do not know, to tell them what Love means.

God's plan is for Man to learn the lesson of Love, upon which the universe is based. He can only learn that lesson by giving love to his neighbor, for the regiving and return of that love by his neighbor. Service to one's neighbor is the highest principle of life. The value of every man to every other man is the greatest source of man's wealth and prosperity. World peace and happiness can only be acquired by the realization of man's asset value to man, and the conservation of that value by mutual service, one to another. No house can be divided against itself and survive -- be it one house or a world of houses.

It is as impossible for peace to come by waging war as it is impossible for love to come by hating. The only fruit of war is war and any seeming peace is but a TRUCE OF FEAR BETWEEN WARS. So it is with our inner-self wars.

Jesus gave to the world a complete way of life which would have endured forever if man had but comprehended Him. But man is still too new, to close to the jungle of his primate days, still stirring his FEAR-BASED BELIEFS and SUPERSTITIONS into the pots called "Christianity" "Buddhism" "Islam" etc. to even faintly comprehend Him. If Jesus were here today to again give the world his supreme knowledge, His greatest obstacle would again be in overcoming the misinterpretations of His own teachings, which have built an impregnable wall of superstition, evil, magic and belief in the miraculous and supernatural, around man's thinking.

The world could have had a dynamic knowledge of God and of His relationship to man, long ago, instead of the vague imaginings it now has, if it had comprehended Jesus' teachings. He told man to look WITHIN HIMSELF to find the answer to all things. What did he mean by that? What is there within man which could be "the kingdom of heaven," and all things else?

He meant MIND. He meant that all there is in this universe is MIND and body -- which means Creator and Creation, and which also means Cause and Effect. And that is the answer to ALL things, It is the complete answer to what God, Nature, man-woman, energy, silence, sound, stillness, motion, and all things else, are . . . Thinking is Creating, the very first and foremost of spiritual truths . . . As a man thinketh, so it is for him . . . As mankind thinks, so it is that it manifests in life. God's Mind and the electric pulsations of His divine thinking, divided among His many bits of "Localized Divinity", Mankind, constitutes the entirety of this universe. Beyond that there is naught else. God's omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, living, conscious Mind is eternally balanced and at rest, Cause and Effect are never separated....

Simply because men of that day and of this day do not comprehend what Jesus meant when He plainly tells them that they could find God within themselves and then all things would be added unto them. . . . "If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you."

Instead of comprehending and believing Him, the mass-Mind of the world, then and now, looks outward toward transient, pulsing bodies of living-dying physical matter for their realities, instead of to their centering, spiritual Soul-Mind. Mankind has done just the opposite of what Jesus taught, and has made himself a way of life which has always led to catastrophe and oblivion. Not one thing of man's creating has endured when man looked outward, and away from the Spirit which centered him..

Yes, it is still very true, and very simple, His teachings...
From Matthew 22:
35 And one of them, a legal expert, put him to the test:
36 "Teacher, which commandment in the Law is the greatest?"
37 He replied to him, "'You are to love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and all your energy.'
38 This commandment is first and foremost.
39 And the second is like it: 'You are to love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 On these two commandments hangs everything in the Law and the Prophets."

Our neighbor is everyone on the face of this earth, all of the sons and daughters of God.

There are only Twelve Simple Principles by which one leads a truly Spiritual Life and completes the learning of the Lesson of Love.

Honesty, Hope, Faith, Courage, Integrity, Willingness, Humility, Brotherly Love, Justice, Perseverance, Spirituality, and Service to One Another.

NONE of these are possible without the development of TRUST!

Yes, we are our brothers keeper, and if we see him going astray we should attract him to the path of righteousness by our example, but we cannot in the name of Love force him. For as someone once said, "A man convinced against his will is unconvinced still."

And I must conclude with a quote from Herbert Spencer:
"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance -- that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

We are THE BELOVED . . .
WE Are The ONE We Have Been Waiting For. .
